We are delighted to have your child/children joining us for Wake Forest Presbyterian Church’s Vacation Bible School (VBS) the week of June 25th through June 29th.  It promises to be a week full of excitement and learning as we “Spark Imagination with Faith Building Fun”.  We will focus on grounding kids in the knowledge that they were created by God for a specific purpose.  We will learn that God made us, God is for us, God is with us, God loves us, and that God made us for a reason.  We will learn these things through Songs, Bible stories, Imagination Station (Science/Crafts), Kid Vid Cinema and Games.  Below are some important details to note before your child arrives.

 

  • DROP OFF AND PICK UP: Your child’s crew will meet in the CLC of the church. Please note: Both PreK and elementary age children will check in at the CLC. PreK children will check in at the PreK room next to the kitchen. Please escort your child into the building each evening and sign in with the leader; doors will open at 5:50 p.m. for a 6:00 sharp start time.  You may pick up your child from the same location at 8:15 p.m.  If someone other than the drop-off parent needs to pick up your child, notify the leader and indicate it on the sign-in sheet.

 

 

  • CLOSING CEREMONY:  Join us in celebrating what we learn at VBS at our closing program in the CLC beginning at 7:50 p.m. on Thursday, June 29.  Please do not arrive earlier than 7:45 p.m. as activities in the CLC will still be in session.  For privacy, we request that all videos/pictures that you take of your child (ren) be kept for your own enjoyment. Please do not post any videos or pictures on social media to respect the privacy of other children in your pictures/videos. Thank you.

 

  • DRESS: Due to the active nature of VBS, we ask that you dress your child comfortably and in closed-toe shoes. We encourage you to join us in celebrating our “Maker Fun Factory” theme by wearing a specific color each day:

 

Sunday: Red

Monday: Orange

Tuesday: Yellow

                                   Wednesday: Green

                                   Thursday: Blue

 

 

 

 

 

  • FOOD: Children participating in VBS and those in the nursery will be offered a daily “Fun Factory” snack. We adhere to the church’s “No Peanut/Tree Nut Policy.” Only children with allergies bringing in a substitute snack may bring in outside food to VBS.  The snack schedule is as follows:

 

Sunday:  Maker Mix (mixture of different types of cereal)

Monday:  Rice Krispie Treats

Tuesday:  Apple Car (apple wedges and grapes)

Wednesday:  Smores (graham crackers, marshmallow fluff and chocolate chips)

Thursday:  Cookie Kids (decorate sugar cookies)

 

  • MEDICAL ACTION FORM:  If you indicated your child has an allergy on your registration form, your child’s teacher will be informed and take precautions.  However, if you have a child with a severe allergy, please remember to bring your child’s Medical Action Form (completed with your doctor’s signature) & Epipen (if applicable). Please review the form found and leave the form and Epipen (if applicable) with your child’s crew leader at drop off. 

 

·         MISSION AND OUTREACH:  Our Fun Factory mission this year is Habitat for Humanity.  Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.  WFPC and Habitat for Humanity have partnered together to provide housing for families right here in Wake Forest, and this year, our WFPC Imagineers will play an important role in this! We are asking that the children bring in monetary donations to support this outreach ministry.  The money collected will be used to purchase specific building materials for Habitat houses under construction (doors, windows, hardware, etc.).  No amount is too small!  Thank you in advance for helping us support this wonderful mission.
